The La Quinta Resort here is incredible. Barren desert with mountains as uninviting as anyplace I have ever seen along with palm trees, citrus trees, and flowers everywhere. After making sure we stayed up as late as possible, we popped up early this morning to pack and catch the early plane to Denver, then on to Palm Springs. To get to Palm Springs, you must fly over miles of barren desert, followed by a stretch of mountains that look just like more desert. …
